Join us for readings and eclectic music held in conjunction with Anchorage's monthly First Friday events (first Friday of October, November, December, February, March, April, and May). Sponsored by the Alaska Quarterly Review (AQR), the First Friday Series brings together vital, creative voices in the visual, performing and literary arts from the Anchorage area and across Alaska.

25th Birthday Celebration and Photo Exhibit

A quarter-of-a-century of literary excellence will be celebrated. Free birthday cake will be served at a cake cutting ceremony at 1:30 p.m. Music provided by Karl Wilhelmi. The Anchorage Public Library is a co-sponsor of this event.
Accompanying the birthday celebration and cake cutting ceremony is the opening of the month-long Alaska Quarterly Review 25th Anniversary Photographic Exhibition by some of Alaska’s best photographers and contributors to AQR. The exhibition will showcase the works of 15 photographers
